Truist Championship launches grant program to drive golf access in Philadelphia
New program highlights tournament’s commitment to inspiring future players in Philadelphia’s communities
PHILADELPHIA – The Truist Championship is excited to announce the launch of the "Growing the Game Grant Program" in partnership with PGA TOUR Superstore. This initiative invites nonprofits to apply for brand-new golf equipment to help kickstart or enhance their programs, expand access to the game, and inspire more individuals in the Philadelphia area to experience the excitement of golf. This announcement comes ahead of the Truist Championship, one of eight Signature Events on the PGA TOUR, which will take place for the first time at the Philadelphia Cricket Club's Wissahickon Course from May 5 to May 11, 2025.
“Our goal with this grant program is to provide golfers of all backgrounds and experience levels opportunities to access the gear they need to enjoy the game,” said Joie Chitwood, Executive Director of the Truist Championship. “Although the Truist Championship is new to the Philadelphia area, we're eager to make an immediate and lasting impact, inspiring a new generation of golfers and fostering a love for the game that will endure long after the tournament.”
Nonprofits of all sizes and focus areas are encouraged to apply, with applicants required to meet the following criteria to be eligible for the grant:
- Have 501(c)3 tax exempt status
- Operate at the local level or be an affiliate/chapter of a larger organization that operates locally and provide free or low-cost enrichment programs for participants
Nonprofits can find more information and submit their applications for the “Growing the Game Grant Program” on the Truist Championship website at truistchampionship.com/community/equipment-grant.
