Names First Tee – Greater Philadelphia as a beneficiary
PHILADELPHIA - Tournament officials announced today that the Truist Championship will generate an estimated $2.5 million in charitable impact for local organizations across the Greater Philadelphia region. The announcement was made during the tournament's media day, which marked the 40-day countdown to the event and featured remarks from Executive Director Joie Chitwood, First Tee – Greater Philadelphia CEO Bill Hyndman, and Truist Chairman and CEO Bill Rogers.
“We are deeply grateful to the city of Philadelphia and the more than 1,500 volunteers whose passion and dedication will enable us to make a meaningful contribution to local nonprofits,” said Joie Chitwood, Executive Director of the Truist Championship. “Thanks to their unwavering support, we are in a unique position to create a lasting impact that extends beyond showcasing world-class golf."
This partnership will significantly extend our reach, providing more young people in Philadelphia with opportunities to develop life skills and confidence through the game of golf.

As part of its charitable efforts, the Truist Championship is proud to support First Tee – Greater Philadelphia, an organization that leverages the game of golf to help youth develop confidence, character, and essential life skills to navigate future challenges.
“At Truist, we believe in partnerships that uplift communities and drive purposeful impact,” said Truist Chairman and CEO Bill Rogers. “Our collaboration with First Tee – Greater Philadelphia delivers on our purpose to inspire and build better lives by empowering future leaders and making a lasting difference in the greater Philadelphia community.”
In addition to funding, First Tee – Greater Philadelphia will receive 30 junior golf club sets, along with additional training equipment, through the Truist Championship’s equipment grant program. This donation will specifically support winter programming, ensuring that athletes have the necessary tools for year-round development.
The Truist Championship has also selected First Tee athletes to serve as standard bearers during the tournament. In this prestigious role, they will walk inside the ropes with a group of PGA TOUR professionals, carrying a sign displaying the players’ names and scores. This unique opportunity allows athletes to engage directly with the players, build leadership skills and gain an insider’s perspective of the tournament.
